Description
Search the M.A.I.N. Library Catalog. Searches are keyword oriented (Title, Author, Toppic etc.). The Catalog Search section also offers a pre-selected search for the latest title requisitions - categorized for Books and DVDs. MOPLI hold information on the last 120 items in each category and displays 40 per page. Pre-selected searches also include listings of the most popular titles at the library as well as the New York Time Bestseller Lists for Hardcover Fiction and Hardcover Non-Ficiton. All searches allow to put titles on hold - prompting partrons to log-in if requested.
Patrons can log in their library account using either the library card number or their account name and their PIN. Once the log in information is completed the patron can check all items currently on hold and all items currently taken out. The hold selection allows to cancel any current holds and shows an alert for items ready to pick up. The Out section allows for renewal of currently borrowed titles (if applicable - not all titles can be renewed) and shows an alert if a title is due to be returned.
The ISBN Barcode Scanner activates the smart phones camera at a push of a button. Once the camera is pointed to an ISBN barcode (10 or 13 digits) a biep signals that the scan is complete and the app retrieves the library information of the title. If the title is availble in the library system patrons can easily put it on hold by the push of a buttom via log-in.
The Contact section shows the main Library contact information and key library staff information incl. name, title, picture, phone and email information.
The Directions section provides detailed information of the Library Location. It offers a Google Map visualization, a text description and a button to activate the smart phones navigation feature.
Library Hours and Closing Dates are served from a central database and display up-to date information on opening hours and Holiday and other clsoing dates.
The Event section is the link to the Library event calendar and event registration system. Patrons can chose between Calendar View or List View. All events provide more detailed information upon touch and offer a one-touch link to the event registration system.
The Latest provides frequently updated information on Library news, upcomming events and other noteworthy broadcastings from the Library to all patrons.
The Library offers access to different online media services such as 3M, Zinio, One Click and FreeGal. This section allows to easily link to these services and if desired download further apps to access online content.
Readers might appreciate a quick reading light while browsing books at the library or anywhere else. This feature activates the smart-phones flash for 8 seconds to provide assistance.
